Let's Talk About Mental Health: Self-Care
Has the pandemic affected you more than you thought? Are you looking for mental health and wellness tips and resources? It can be tough out there. The Community Mental Health Project is here for you.
What is Self-Care? Self-care means taking the time to do things that help you live well and improve both your physical health and mental health. This session led by Dr. Patrice Douglas includes a simple approach to reimagine a better path to connecting with self and enhance core motive of belongingness to find joy, excitement, and energy to preserve one’s sense of self and mental health and wellness.

- Overcoming Health Anxiety: Letting Go of Your Fear of Illness by Katherine Owens and Martin M. Antony offers readers cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques for overcoming hypochondriasis and health-related fears.

Community Mental Health Project is a community-informed collaboration between The New York Public Library. Columbia University Department of Psychiatry, and Black Health. to raise community awareness around mental health and highlight resources with a specific focus on Black and Latinx/a/o New Yorkers.
Community Mental Health Project creates opportunities for people to learn and gain mental health resources through animated videos, books, and programs, in English and Spanish.
