COVID-19 Community Mobilization Dashboard

A real time overview of our community work to share COVID-19 resources, answer questions about vaccines, and refer community members to health services including testing and vaccinations

Event Types

We hold a range of events in the community. Our most common type of events is called “Tabling” where we set up a table in a community location, for example, near a subway station to distribute masks, COVID and vaccine literature and discuss the impact of COVID-19 and healthcare disparities on our communities.

Events by Borough

We focus on hosting activities in key Black residential neighborhoods across New York. We work in zip codes with the highest levels of COVID-rates and with limited access to healthcare and other services.

Community Engagement

We measure how many people we share resources with. Some people are busy and can only stop to collect masks and some literature about how to prevent COVID spreading or to find out about vaccines. Other community members stop and chat with us about their fears, questions, health needs and solutions. If you see us in your community, come say hi!

Distributing Key Resources

Black Health is highly trusted by the communities and neighborhoods we work in. We build relationships with faith based organizations, community leaders, businesses, and housing services. Community members seek out our health literature and other supports as they know our data and information is well researched, evidence-based, and focused on local community needs.

Promoting sexual health

Black Health’s origins as an HIV/AIDS service means we have core expertise in safer sex practices, HIV, Hep C and PrEP. We take the opportunity to speak with community members who may be seeking sexual health educational materials and services when we are in the community. During COVID, people have not had access to their usual resources, so we continue our sexual health outreach.
